The finalists of the Vittorio Veneto Violin Competition. France, Italy and Germany compete for the Prosecco DOC International Award

After a hard-fought semifinal, the three young musicians who will compete in the Final Concert of the City of Vittorio Veneto Violin Competition, Prosecco DOC International Prize, have been selected.

They are Ispir Luka (France), Sedona Vikram Francesco (Italy) e Siles-Mellinger Andreas (Germany).

My most sincere thanks go to all the competitors, even those who were eliminated in the first qualifying round and those who didn't make it to the final today”. Thus affirms the President of the jury Ernesto Schiavi who continues saying: "We know very well the commitment, strength and tenacity it takes to get prepared for a competition of this level, giving not only proof of skill, but also of having steady nerves. My warmest congratulations therefore to these three magnificent finalists who are the witnesses of 3 important European countries ".

The following scholarships were also awarded during the evening.

The Frenchman Luka Ispir was awarded the € 750.00 scholarship offered by the Rotary Club Conegliano Vittorio Veneto for the best interpretation of Mozart during the first rehearsal.

The Italian Vikram Francesco Sedona receives the € 750.00 scholarship offered by the Rotary Club Conegliano Vittorio Veneto for the best interpretation of J.S. Bach performed in the first round, the € 750.00 Scholarship offered by the Prosecco DOC Protection Consortium for the best interpretation of the Brahms Sonata performed in the first round, the € 750.00 Scholarship offered by the Prosecco Protection Consortium DOC for the best interpretation of Amoroso cantabile by D. Coleman performed in the second round and the € 750.00 scholarship offered by the Prosecco DOC Protection Consortium to the youngest semifinalist.

The jury decided to award a special diploma of merit to Taisiya Zinova (Latvia).

The final will be held at the Lorenzo Da Ponte Theater on Saturday 2 October at 5.00 pm in the presence of the Orchestra of the Accademia della Scala in Milan conducted for the occasion by the Maestro David Coleman from London, former member of the jury. The event, with admission by reservation, can also be followed live online on Facebook and Youtube.

The competition prizes are as follows:

1st PRIZE "PROSECCO DOC" of € 8,000.00 offered by the Consortium for the Protection of Prosecco DOC.

2nd PRIZE of € 5,000.00 offered by the Municipality of Vittorio Veneto

3° PRIZE of € 2.000,00 offered by Lions Club of Vittorio Veneto

A violin made by the master luthier Lorenzo Rossi of Milan, offered as a special prize, and built specifically for this edition. The instrument worth € 18,000.00 will be awarded to one of the three finalists, at the sole discretion of the Jury.

The absolute winner of the Violin Competition, if nominated, will also win a series of concerts on the major Italian stages and the possibility to teach a Masterclass aimed at students of Italian high schools and conservatories.
