Under-27 violinists residing in the European Union now have until Tuesday 20th June 2023 to fulfill the procedure on the Competition website.
The extension is due to the difficulty of finding the piece "Incantation", that competitors have to perform during the selection to be admitted in the Violin Competition. The delay, linked to problems of the official distributor, would not have allowed young artists to study and rehearse the piece sufficiently. From this it follows that the deadline of applications is postponed, now that the scores are finally available, to give them the necessary time to study.
In recent weeks several inquiries on this issue have been made from aspiring competitors and, considering the large margin that still exists before the Competition, it was decided to extend the chance to apply to this latest round of musicians.
All other requirements remain unchanged, while the program of the 33rd edition has not yet been defined in its entirety. The organizational committee will share some updates shortly.
